On almost a weekly basis, we receive notes from viewers wanting us to air our programming on additional platforms. So, I would like to share a little about our efforts to expand our presence.
Over the past few months, our Director of Channel Distribution and I have traveled across the United States to visit with several major cable and satellite providers in hopes of getting NRBTV added to their programming lineups. During these meetings, we have introduced our channel and provided them with reasons we should be added to their lineup.
With each visit, we have been praying that God open doors to allow us to further our reach. We are standing firm that these doors will be open and are looking forward to being able to impact more of our culture through our programming.
Please keep our ministry in your prayers. Pray for our team as we continue to promote our network and for our future meetings with providers. Also, if we aren’t currently on your cable or satellite provider, please contact them and request that NRBTV be added to their channel lineup.
Thanks for your continued support. I look forward sharing updates in the near future.

Do you remember your first roller coaster ride? Did you feel anxious and uneasy not knowing what to expect? I recall the pit in my stomach as the roller coaster slowly climbed the hill, the pause at the very top that allowed the anticipation to build, and then the exhilarating free fall as the coaster raced down the track.
Even though you anticipate the ups and downs and know that they will come with great speed, it doesn’t make it any less frightening or thrilling when they come. Each twist and turn, up and down, and sound of creaking track brings uncertainty of what’s next.
Life can be like a roller coaster at times. We can go from being on the top of a mountain one day, to the next day twisting and turning down into a valley and finding ourselves in a low point. In a matter of minutes, we can go from happiness to anger and bitterness.
While our lives are always changing, there is one thing that is always constant, God’s love. Regardless of the situations that we encounter, Jesus stays the same.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8
When unexpected trials arise, the Bible reminds us to place our trust in God. Philippians 4:7 reassures us, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
While we may not know what tomorrow holds for us, we know that our Savior is greater than any difficulty that we may experience. Be grateful for His love and take comfort in knowing that it is always there and always consistent.

Do you find it difficult to disconnect from your mobile device or computer? How often during the day do we get distracted by Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, or check our email? Do you check these more than 5 times a day? More than 10 times? Can you go an entire day without checking your social media or email?
While many people say they are so busy that they can’t make time for quiet time, they still find time to check their messages. Consider if every time we checked our social media, we read our Bible instead. While you may not always have your Bible available, you can access scripture through the Bible app. If you don’t have the Bible app, I encourage you to take a few moments to download it. Then you will be able to take it with you everywhere. I challenge you this week to spend a few minutes that would have otherwise been scrolling through your social media feed to read scripture.
This world is full of distractions that pull us away from God, making it very difficult to stay focused on Him. When we become distracted from our faith, we become separated from God. Let’s purposefully strive towards focusing on God and His ways. We can do this by studying His word and praying for guidance. It’s not always easy, but by minimizing distractions and leaning on Him we can.

Facebook recently announced that they hit the two billion users mark. It seems like almost everyone you know is on this social media platform. But are their profiles depicting reality?
As you browse through your friends’ profiles, you will see happy individuals and families. They all appear to be having the time of their life. Filled with wonderful vacations and fun-loving people!
Keep in mind, everyone’s life looks better on the internet than it does in real life. This is because the internet allows people to pick and choose what people see.
People share cute or funny pictures of their kids – not the screaming fit they had just a few minutes before the picture was taken.
They share the perfectly cooked meal – not the messy kitchen in the background.
They share their wonderful vacation– without telling us how long they had save for that trip or the debt they incurred because they didn’t save at all.
So the next time you’re scrolling through Facebook, getting depressed because your life isn’t like the others you see online- remember that isn’t reality. All of those pictures don’t represent their entire lives, only the happy moments.
The Bible clearly says “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23. We all have imperfections, short-comings and sins. Don’t allow the fact that you don’t see the imperfections of others make you feel like you are the only one that doesn’t have a picture perfect life.
While none of us are perfect, God’s grace and mercy is extended to us. He uses our weakness for His glory. “…My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness…” 2 Corinthians 12: 9
He promises that if we seek Him, He will continue to work in us. And that is enough. It’s enough for you and enough for me.

We tend to notice God’s goodness when things are going well. Oftentimes, you hear people say “God is good” after something good has happened. But what about when life gets hard?
While we should reflect on God’s goodness during the good times, we need to also realize that God is good ALL the time. Our circumstances don’t determine God’s character.
Even during life’s painful moments, God provides opportunities for us to grow. He uses these to build character. This is evident in James 1: 2-3, “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.”
God also instructs us to use our painful seasons to help others. By experiencing a situation, we are better able to comfort and encourage others as they are going through a difficult season.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Regardless of what you are facing today, I challenge you to remember that God is good all the time. He is always working for our good.
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

We all face times in our lives when a choice that we make or an incident that happens causes something in your life to change. These are defining moments. Some are good and others are bad, but each has made an impact in your life. Take a moment to reflect some of your defining moments:
As you reflect on your life journey so far, can you see God’s mercy and His blessing? Has His faithfulness been evident through the good times as well as the tough times? In most cases, our faith grows the most and we feel closest to God through the tougher times.
Ultimately, every defining moment leads us to either trust God or trust ourselves. If you think about, most of the negative defining moments in our lives resulted from trusting in ourselves, in our own judgment, or giving into temptation because we weren’t trusting God to have our best interest in mind.
When it comes to facing defining moments in the future, I encourage you to allow God to lead your path. Trust in His ways and He will help through the good times and the bad.

Summer is officially here! For many of us, summer is typically a time of relaxation and ease. While there is nothing wrong with a break from the normal routine, we need to make sure we aren’t taking a vacation from the Lord.
For parents, it is especially important that we continue to lead our children towards a closer walk with Christ. Let’s strive towards investing more into our children this summer. Here are a few simple ways that we can lead our families towards a closer relationship with Christ.
No matter what happens this summer, please don’t show your children that summer is a time to be lazy in your spiritual walk. Use this time intentionally to dive deeper into God’s word. Spiritual growth doesn’t happen without discipline and a plan.
“…train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4:7-8

Does your life feel like one long “to do” list? Do you feel like you have too many responsibilities and not enough time? Many of us have a hard time resting. When we have a free moment, we may feel uncomfortable and restless. Maybe you feel a sense of guilt when you allow yourself to occasionally slow down. Your list of things that need doing seems to be never ending, so why rest? Because God instructs you to.
God was busy when He created the universe. When He was done, He rested.
“And on the seventh day God finished His work that He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work that He had done. So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all His work that He had done in creation.” Genesis 2:2-3
In the same way, we see Jesus also rested. He often withdrew from people in order to spend time alone with God.
“And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, He departed and went out to a desolate place, and there He prayed. And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him, and they found Him and said to Him, ‘Everyone is looking for you.’” Mark 1:35-37
This passage shows that Jesus withdrew from the crowds when He was most in demand. There were thousands of people waiting for Him to heal them, to teach them, and to bless them. In order for Jesus to accomplish the purpose God had sent Him, He had to remain spiritually strong and thus requiring regular times of prayer and rest.
We should follow His example. One of the most important functions of rest is to allow us to listen to God. Our lives are so busy that oftentimes we become deaf to the still, small voice of God. In the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives, we often find ourselves being controlled by emotion, by habit and circumstance, instead of being guided by the Holy Spirit. Rest allows us to realign our priorities. God wants us to take time with Him and rely on Him for rest.
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29

When you think of change, does a feeling of uneasiness arise within you? Honestly, I don’t know many people that enjoy change. Whether it’s sudden, like the loss of job, or expected, like a child leaving the nest, change can be difficult.
Changes bring about unknowns and what-ifs. Often times, you have to get accustomed to a new way of life. Many times this isn’t an easy endeavor. However, we can rest assured that through life’s changes, Jesus won’t change.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8
This short verse reassures us that even when the world is changing around us, we can place our faith in Jesus. He will be there regardless of whatever we are going through. Many times we choose to go through life’s changes on our own. Yet, if we rely on Jesus, He will bring peace.
I encourage you to keep your focus on Jesus when you’re facing transition and unexpected change. Rely on Him to get you through uncertainty, and accept the peace He offers.

Traveling has become so much easier with the invention of the GPS. In the past, we had to rely on maps or when all else failed, stopped for directions. In most cases, the GPS provides step-by-step instructions to ensure that you don’t get lost.
Recently, I was traveling a familiar road and decided not to listen to the voice coming out of my GPS, because I thought I knew a better route. While eventually I arrived to the correct location, it ended up taking much longer than the route the GPS recommended. I ended up getting stuck in traffic that I could have avoided.
We often do the same thing in our Christian walk. God has provided us with a life GPS, the Bible. It has clear instructions/directions for every part of our life. God even gave each of us the Holy Spirit to remind and nudge us when our lives begin to get off track.
Yet, just like me during my recent trip, we often we feel like we know better than the GPS (Bible) and decide to follow our own route. The Bible instructs us to turn right and we turn left. We continuously ignore that little voice that keeps telling us to make a u-turn. And what happens?
We find ourselves wondering how our lives got turned upside down. Stuck in bad situations. And yes, God can get us back on track just like the GPS did in my car. But first we must give Him control and follow Him.
“Keep steady my steps according to your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me.” Psalm 119:133
So be encouraged. Sometimes it may take longer than it should have, but you can get back on track and become everything God called you to be.

Have you ever noticed the role that imitation plays in our lives? Children often imitate super heroes, athletes, musicians, and celebrities. From dressing like them to mimicking their actions.
Children are very impressionable and it is important that they have good role models. In most cases, children look to their parents or close family members for an example of who they are and who they are supposed to be.
As a father, I want to be a Godly example for my children. In today’s world, it isn’t always an easy endeavor. Parents and families need a lot of love and support as they aim to live like Christ. We need to consistently pray and ask for God’s help. As Christians, we should strive to model Christ by learning His Word, looking at His life in the Bible, and then imitating it in our own lives.
“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:1-2
I urge you today to look at your life and see if you are imitating Christ. If not, I encourage you to submit to Him and strive towards living your life consistently as a disciple.

Life can be difficult at times. Some days we feel tired, exhausted, and struggle with defeat. Through these times, we may feel as if we have been left on our own.
However, we have the promise of never being alone. God is our ever-present companion. He guides and protects us, but often we may be unaware of Him.
Many times we try to go through life’s circumstances by ourselves, instead of reaching out to God for His help. Our lives become so busy that often we don’t make time for a daily conversation with our Savior.
God wants to be part of every aspect of our lives. He is looking to connect with us in prayer, so that He can unleash His power through us. It is a power to overcome any trial, any difficulty, and any challenge.
In Matthew 7:7-8, Jesus says: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”
Jesus offers the invitation of prayer to everyone. He invites us to receive His light for our daily journey. I encourage you to take all of your burdens to Him. Take a few moments every day to share the desires of your heart and accept His redemption, guidance, forgiveness, and peace.

We hope you will tune in nightly and tell a friend!
If you have gone into any retail stores in the last few weeks, you probably noticed Easter baskets, eggs, bunnies, and strategically placed toys. As many prepare for Easter, the main focus will be creating a nice basket, finding that perfect outfit, and preparing the family holiday gathering.
How sad that so many have so quickly forgotten the true meaning of Easter. It has nothing to do with a bunny. It has everything to do with a man named Jesus and the life-changing, amazing power of His resurrection. Through Christ’s resurrection, He conquered sin and death and offers eternal life to everyone who believes.
Why is the resurrection so important? Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:13-14, “But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.” Jesus could have lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and even been crucified, but if He hadn’t been raised from the dead, none of it would have mattered! The resurrection is God’s exclamation of eternal VICTORY!
Have you received God’s greatest gift, His son Jesus Christ? If not, I sincerely hope, you will seek His mercy and forgiveness this Easter. He suffered and bled and died to save us all from our sins.
“…if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” Romans 10:9-10
Allow this Easter to a new beginning for you. I don’t know what you are facing in this season of your life. But, I do know that the One who died on a cross many years ago for our sins has the power to resurrect you to a full and abundant life.

Living in Tennessee, I have come to expect frequent rain showers during the Spring months. In fact, over the past couple of weeks, parts of the state have experienced severe storms. And the weather forecast for today is predicting the possibility of more severe weather this afternoon.
The saying, “April showers brings May flowers,” is a good reminder that even violent storms that we encounter should encourage us to endure the soggy days with the promise of beauty on the other side. The same is true in our lives. When we go through hard times, we should remember that the hard times won’t last forever. Ultimately, they may bring about blessings that we have yet to imagine. After the storm, our lives will explode with beauty. God will use our circumstance to make the blessing even more precious.
“Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” Romans 5:3-5
As we experience storms in our lives, I encourage you to remember what Jesus said in John 16:33, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” Instead of becoming anxious and afraid, focus on Christ and allow Him to help you through. Jesus is greater than any storm we will ever face.

Have you ever looked at your neighbors and compared yourself to them? From your front door, their lives look pretty great. They look like they have it all together. Maybe their yard is immaculate or their house looks like it should be featured in a magazine.
Do you feel like you don’t measure up? The enemy wants you to think that their life is easier than yours and that they are better than you.
Truthfully, no one is living a perfect life. Everyone experiences heartache, pain and sleepless nights at times. Don’t allow insecurity and the comparison game to keep you from loving your neighbor. Chances are, they may be sitting on their porch thinking that your life looks pretty great. The things and people that you may be comparing yourself to may appear good on the outside, but you don’t know what is on the inside of their heart and that is truly what matters to God.
Everything that glitters isn’t gold. You may not know what a person is struggling with. They may have nice things, but you don’t know what they may have sacrificed to get them.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2
I encourage you to stop comparing yourself to others. God has given us all different gifts. They all work together to build the same kingdom. Spend time enjoying your God given abilities and use them to glorify His kingdom.
